MANAGING DIRECTOR - Glynn Alner

Glynn founded Stratus Security in 2019 with a vision of delivering security services that made a difference and promised clients a personal relationship that was tailored to their needs. Bridging the gaps between different security industry sectors and using various experiences to produce unique services, with continued high standards and always prioritising trust and efficiency.

Glynn’s military career began in 2011 when he joined the Royal Marine Commandos and earned the coveted Green Beret. Serving until 2016, Glynn was part of Naval Fleet protection teams deploying on operations and joint exercises globally.

After serving with distinction, Glynn travelled to South Africa and completed the world renowned Ronin SA hostile security training course, becoming highly trained and proficient in medical responce, advanced and defensive driving, threat assessment, hand to hand combat and weapons handling. Finishing top of his course and voted by his peers to lead the final operation as Personal Protection Officer.

Since then Glynn has completed various risk management, further medical training and development courses.

Beginning his security career on the UK close protection circuit in 2017, Glynn has built a diverse network of Clients, Operators and Experience, which has allowed him to continue to deliver the highest levels of security services.

Glynn has served many UHNW individuals, A-list celebrities, music talents, governmental departments and professional sports teams as a close protection operator.

Trained from a young age in JuJitsu, Glynn was also a semi-professional rugby league player and represented the Navy in Rugby. He enjoys training and keeping active in his spare time.

OPERATIONS - Jack Craig

Jack is a dedicated security professional with over 10 years of diverse experience in the security industry, spanning the UK and the world.

Jack began his security career in the North of England as a door supervisor but soon re-trained in close protection and has since worked in Africa, Europe, Asia, and South America.

Jack earned his Close Protection license and achieved an International Bodyguarding Level 4 qualification.

His commitment to growth didn’t stop there, he then pursued a robust medical background, starting with FREC3 and advancing to FREC5 over six years, alongside specialized training in Medicine in Remote Areas and Hostile Environment Close Protection. These skills have fueled his success in dynamic roles, from maritime security in the Mediterranean to serving on the presidential security team in Africa.

Jack also thrived in hostile and remote environments, where his tactical and medical skills have been put to the test time and again. Jack has also led small and large teams on both domestic and international levels.

Beyond close protection, he has expanded his expertise into related fields such as surveillance and private investigation, earning qualifications in these areas as well as creating a broader skill set.

Jack enjoys keeping in peak condition—both physically and mentally—through a disciplined fitness regime. Boxing and physical training are not just hobbies; they’re part of his lifestyle.

Jack also completed a bachelor’s degree in Security & Risk management.

After a decade as a CPO, Jack continues to push himself to be the best version he can be—professionally, academically, and personally.

With a career based on resilience and a skill set forged across the globe, he brings a unique blend of experience, leadership, and expertise to every task.

OPERATIONS - James Wilson

James served for 12 years in the Household Cavalry Blues and Royals, where he trained ceremonial and armoured divisions.

James is proud to have been part of trooping the colour and other major parades. During his time with armoured divisions he was a driver operator of CVRT light tanks and trucks as part of reconnaissance and surveillance missions and replenishment tasks for the troops on the ground.

After his military career James moved into the security industry training locally in the UK and gaining his close protection license. He has worked as part of close protection teams for the past 5 years working for a number of different UHNW individuals, particularly, children’s protection teams, corporate and political.

James has completed further training as a security driver and become part of Residential security teams. Working in an ad-hoc setting James has used his time on the security circuit to develop and perfect his skills as a trained security operator.

James has aspirations of owning a Security Transport company, operating worldwide.

His hobbies and interests are training in the gym, motorbikes, spending time with his children and camping.

OPERATIONS - Darren Daniels

Darren has worked in the security industry for 21 years. During this time he has perfected his craft across all areas of the industry, as well as further training and instructing.

Darren began his career working at music venues for Artists across the UK and then moved on to airport security working with international border control and immigration departments.

He then trained further and gained his close protection license where he embarked on a diverse career, providing security for foreign Diplomats and ultra high net worth individuals.

Darren’s 4 core values professionally are:

OPERATIONS - Andrew Smail

Andrew is a dynamic and adaptable operator with a wealth of experience in the security industry.

He joined the 1st Battalion Coldstream Guards in 2004 and had a successful 7 year career in the military. Andrew deployed worldwide on various operational tours and joint exercises.

During his military career, he continued his childhood passion for boxing and represented the British Army boxing team.

In 2010/11 Andrew left the Army and trained in security, completing high level training courses and adapting his skillset through various parts of the industry. He then trained further and gained his close protection license.

For the last 7 years Andrew has worked as a close protection officer, and security Driver and has fulfilled various other roles and responsibilities whilst working for UHNWI and members of Parliament. He has worked with the home office and governmental department transferring high risk individuals back to their country of origin.

Andrew also has experience working on residential security teams and as part of asset protection teams travelling across 3 continents.

Andrew continues to develop his ability through writing dynamic risk assessments for residential security teams and private residences.

A keen sportsman, Andrew enjoys taking part in a number of pursuits in order to keep fit and active including football, golf and going to the gym.
